October 19, 2021 MassRecycle Board Member, Michael Orr, the City of Cambridge’s Recycling Director, was interviewed for the magazine, Resource Recycling about the recyclability of cartons in Massachusetts.

September 15, 2021 MassRecycle Vice President Waneta Trabert, Sustainable Materials Management Director for the City of Newton, was interviewed on by Boston 25 News regarding Extended Producer Responsibility laws proposed in Massachusetts.

September 8, 2021 MassRecycle Director Gunther Wellenstein, Solid Waste Manager for the City of Haverhill, was named the new Vice Director for SWANA’s leadership committee.

March 18, 2021 Three of MassRecycle’s past presidents joined us for a History of MassRecycle webinar. Pat Scanlon of Principal, Scanlon Associates, Ben Harvey of E.L. Harvey & Sons and Claire Galkowski of South Shore Recycling Cooperative offered their wisdom and amazing stories about how recycling got started in Massachusetts, and where we can go from here. December 14, 2020 one of MassRecycle’s newest Board Member, John Hanselman, described a new alliance between Starbucks, Unilever, DFA and Vanguard Renewables in his latest blog. This historic alliance commits to reducing food waste from manufacturing and the supply chain and repurposing any unavoidable waste into renewable energy via Vanguard Renewables’ farm-based anaerobic digesters. December 9, 2020  one of MassRecycle’s newest Board Member, John Hanselman, was quoted in a press release describing how Vanguard Renewables along with food industry leaders are launching a Farm Powered Strategic Alliance (FBSA).  Learn More.
